Spiritual Mentoring

What is a spiritual mentoring? 

At Living Hope we want to offer as many ways as possible for people to be real, transformed, connected and poured out!  Spiritual Mentoring is an excellent way to let God grow you.  We have several people trained to simply journey with you as you pursue spiritual depth.  You can be paired up as an individual or as a couple.  You set when you meet according to your own schedule.  To learn more or to request to be paired up with a spiritual mentor, please contact Kyle Jackson at pastorkyle@elivinghope.com

What is a Spiritual Mentor ?

When my kids were little I used to enjoy reading to them. I would also have a little fun by urging them to get into the pages of the story we were reading by physically getting into the book.  They would press their foreheads down into the pages as hard as they could but they could never quite get into the story.  I would let them try and try and they could just not understand why they couldn’t get into the book and become a part of the story.  In the same way, people today are standing outside of the story.   We need to help them get into the story—God’s story.  By discovering themselves as a character within God’s story for humankind, the gospel begins to make a difference. By living in it they begin to discover God’s truth.  The story is powerful and the Holy Spirit will reveal to them the truth of God’s Word. The gospel as narrative, as story—helps them see their place in it. As mentors you can help people enter God’s story through mentoring them. As a mentor you will develop a deeper intentional relationship with only a few. You become an important part of their life and they become an important part of yours as your spiritual friendship grows.  Just as Christ did with his disciples, you will challenge assumptions, ask tough questions, and walk with them and them with you on life’s journey.

Why become a spiritual mentor?

We currently have a number of men and women of all ages needing and desiring a mentor. We are looking for someone to help them learn about their newfound faith or to help them explore more deeply what it is to be a Christian.  Through mentoring one of these individuals or couples, you can engage them in God’s story and open them up to the truth of God’s word and deeper meaning in life.
