Pastor Chad Current

Schooling:

Miamisburg High School; Mount Vernon Nazarene University (B.A. in Religion); Nazarene Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity)

Background:
I was born in Dayton and raised in Miamisburg, OH. I have
one brother, Kevin, who is four years younger than I. My parents,
Rick and Rose Current, gave me an example of what good marriage looks like and a daily example of what it means to follow Christ. I also was blessed with a strong and supportive extended family including grandparents, Aunt, Uncles and cousins.

Married Kimberly on June 15, 2002.
Our love continues to grow. We have a date night once a week. Kimberly Anne is my best friend, my spiritual motivator, my partner, my lover, my gift from God. Kimberly is from around Kent, OH and attended Kent State University. Along with being my partner in ministry at Living Hope and one who is loved as an encourager and helper to many at Living Hope, she is also an accountant.

Our daughter:
On March 4, 2006, our first child, Anna Joy was born!
Kimberly and I struggled somewhat to have a child (having two
miscarriages and receiving attention from a specialist), but God
heard our prayers and allowed us the gift of a beautiful baby girl.
The name Anna means "Blessing of God" and she has brought us
much joy!

Spiritual Testimony:
I accepted Christ when I was seven years old at
Miamisburg Church of the Nazarene in a special service for the children. Since that time I have had spiritual ups and downs, but God has continued to be with me in a process of transformation. When I was 15 years old I accepted God's call on my life to enter full-time ministry. In seminary God brought me to a point where I fully surrendered myself to Him. The things that continue to help me grow in my relationship with Christ are: Daily prayer, daily Scripture reading, corporate prayer on Wednesday, accountability with men in the church, Monday mornings at 6 AM, a monthly accountability group with other Pastors and with my good friend, Aaron Kemp, corporate worship and small groups at Living Hope.

Self-observed strengths:
Stubborn-if I strongly believe in something, I won't back down; driven; I like to laugh; still believe that Christ is able to change lives!

Self-observed weaknesses:
Stubborn-sometimes my stubbornness slows me down; Tend to be perfectionistic with myself (but usually not with others); sometimes it is hard for me to give myself permission to relax (Kimberly is changing this).

Favorite Scripture verses:
Luke 1:37 - "For nothing is impossible with God."

Joshua 1:9 - "Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified.
Do not be afraid. For the Lord your God will be with
you wherever you go."

Galatians 1:10 - "Am I now trying to win the approval of men or of
God? Or am I still trying to please men? If I were
still trying to please men, I would not be a servant
of Christ."
